Why the Oxford?
Have you been upstairs at the lovely old Oxford? It has character and personality, super-high ceilings and shiny-shiny floorboards, exposed brickwork and a balcony with great views. It is in the heart of the bridal mile in Mt Hawthorn and Leederville – so why not make a day of it? The parking is easy and the public transport stops right outside.
Plus, there’s method in our madness of hosting First Comes Love at a pub. If your other half is not so keen on frocks and frou frou, let him (or her) stop downstairs with the beer and big-screen sports while you while away some wedding-dedicated hours upstairs.
One word of warning – the stairs are not pram-friendly. So if you’ve taken ‘first comes love’ literally and have a lovely little one, why not treat yourself and book a babysitter? Tell your mum/mum-in-law/sibling/friend we said it was OK.
